Biography

Andreas Wolter, Deputy Mayor of the City of Cologne Andreas Wolter has already been directly elected to the Cologne City Council four times (2004, 2009, 2014, 2020). The Cologne City Council elected him Deputy Mayor in 2014 and 2020. He has been a member of the Green Party since 1983.In addition to his voluntary work as a councillor, mayor and first deputy to Lord Mayor Henriette Reker, he is chairman of the Climate Alliance and chairman of the Franco-German Committee in the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR).Among other things, he is also involved in the committees:- Member of the supervisory board of municipal transport company (KVB).- Member of the main committee of the German Association of Cities.- Member of the Presidium and the Main Committee of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR)- Full Member of the World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG)He was born in 1964 in the countryside of North Rhine-Westphalia.There he gained his first political experience as a councillor in a small municipality on the Belgian border at a young age. In addition to the topics of mobility, international relations and climate protection, the overarching themes of human rights and international climate justice have accompanied him from the beginning until today.
