Ed Webber is Deputy Director for International Net Zero Financing & Sector Transitions in the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Ed leads teams whose aim is to accelerate global low carbon sectoral and clean technology transitions by combining international climate finance and diplomacy campaigns, including the Breakthrough Agenda launched at COP26. Previously, he worked as BEIS’ Head of EU Strategy and as Head of Climate & Energy Engagement. He co-founded the Green Growth Group and Platform and has led numerous international campaigns on key files including the EU’s 2030 package, EU ETS reform and energy market designs. He has also worked as EU Adviser to the UK’s Deputy Prime Minister, private sector consultant to a range of blue chip and green tech companies and as policy and comms adviser in the UK and European Parliaments.
