Biography

Luisa Neubauer, born 1996 in Hamburg, is one of the co-organizers of Fridays for Future and the most prominent representative of the German movement in the media. In 2018, she met Swedish student Greta Thunberg at the UN Climate Change Conference and started the movement in Germany together with other activists. Since then, she has co-organized eleven global climate strikes, met with various heads of state and government. Luisa Neubauer graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in geography. She is currently studying resource analysis and management in the master's program at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. Together with Alexander Repenning, she published the book "From the end of the climate crisis - A story of our future" in 2019. In July 2021, she published the book "We still have the choicel" together with Bernd Ulrich. In October 2022, she published the book "Gegen die Ohnmacht" (Against powerlessness) together with her grandmother Dagmar Reemtsma. She is host of the Spotify original podcast "1.5 degrees". Luisa Neubauer lives in Berlin.
