Lutz Weischer is Head of Policy Berlin at Germanwatch, a development and environment NGO with offices in Bonn and Berlin. He is responsible for representing Germanwatch vis-à-vis decision-makers, the media and expert audiences in the capital. In addition, he coordinates the development of strategies on key topics that are of particular importance for the entire organization. Prior to that, he was Team Leader for International Climate Policy at Germanwatch for more than five years, focusing on climate financing, climate foreign policy, UN climate negotiations and G7/G20. Since 2008, he regularly participates as an observer in the international climate conferences, but also in board meetings of the Green Climate Fund. Prior to that, he worked for the World Resources Institute (WRI) in Beijing, Washington and Frankfurt for four years on topics including financing renewable energies in developing countries, innovation policy technology cooperation and the links between trade and climate policy. He holds a Master in International Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and a diploma in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin.
