Rev. Dr Dagmar Pruin has been leading the Protestant aid organisations Brot für die Welt and Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe since March 2021 and is deputy chief executive of the Protestant Agency for Diakonie and Development (EWDE e. V.), the legal entity of the two aid organisations and Diakonie Deutschland.
Previously, the Protestant theologian was managing director of Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste from 2013 to 2020 and had been director of the German-American-Jewish encounter programme Germany Close Up since 2007.
Dr Dagmar Pruin is a member of the ZDF Television Council, the Board of Trustees of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Board of Trustees of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Future Commission on Agriculture of the BMEL. She is also a permanent guest at the Council of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) and a member of the EKD Chamber Network.
