Event Information

COP27 marks the first COP where Kosovo is present. Kosovo faces serious climate threats such as droughts, floods, wildfires and loss of biodiversity. Meanwhile, as a developing country that faces adverse effects from climate change, Kosovo is the only country with no access to climate finance because Kosovo's participation on UNFCCC processes and funding mechanisms is denied. However, Kosovo while advocating for an equal treatment for climate finance within UN principles of "leave no one behind" is also committed to bringing unilateral ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions. Minister of Environment, Mr. Liburn Aliu, together with the rest of the delegation, through this side event will present the overall Climate Change Agenda.
