Cem Özdemir

Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture, has been actively engaged in German and European politics since he joined the Alliance 90/ The GREENS in 1981. Following his first mandate for the German Bundestag (1994-2002), he was a Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the U.S. in Washington DC and Brussels before he joined the European Parliament (2004-2009). He served as a chair for the Alliance 90/ The GREENS from 2008 to 2018 and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2013, where he was Chair of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure (2018-2021).

Cem Özdemir holds a Master of Arts in Social Pedagogy and has won several prices and awards.
