Biography

Since June 2019 Gerlind Heckmann is leading the subdivision for Promotion and Financing of Foreign Trade and Investment as Deputy Director General. Additionally, Mrs. Heckmann is in charge for the affairs in the regions of Ukraine – Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia since September 2022. Before joining the subdivision in 2019, she acted as Deputy Director General of subdivision for Electricity Grids from September 2015 to May 2019 at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

 

Since 1993 Mrs. Heckmann is working at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and has operated in various functions in the field of Foreign Trade, in the Office of the Minister; she headed the Parliament and Cabinet department and the department for Economic Relations with East Asia between 2010 to 2015. From 1999 to 2000, she acted as Economic Counselor at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C. and between 2002 to 2005 as Economic Counselor at the German Embassy in Beijing.
