Miguel Ángel López Borrego

Miguel Ángel López Borrego, born in 1965, is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) thyssenkrupp AG. In this position, he is responsible the overall topic of sustainability, the corporate functions Communications, Investor Relations Management, Legal & Compliance und Transformation & Portfolio Development and the segment of thyssenkrupp Decarbon Technologies.

Miguel Ángel López Borrego's educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Berufsakademie Mannheim, Germany (1984-1987), and a Global MBA from the Universities of Toronto (Canada), Erftstadt (Germany), Linz (Austria), and Shanghai (China) (1998-2000). López Borrego served as Controller for Production, Quality, and Logistics at VDO, Babenhausen, Germany (1987-1991), followed by his role as CFO at VDO Instrumentos S.A., Rubi, Spain (1991-1995). His contributions extended to Mannesmann VDO AG, Babenhausen, Germany, where he served as CFO for Instruments (1995-2001) and later as CFO for Interior & Infotainment at Siemens VDO AG, Babenhausen, Germany (2001-2003).

Continuing his journey with Siemens AG, López Borrego held various CFO positions, including Low Voltage Controls & Distribution (2004-2007), Industry Automation Division (2008-2013), Industry Sector (2013-2014), and Digital Factory (2014-2017). He further expanded his expertise as CFO at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A., Zamudio, Spain (2017-2018) and as President and CEO at Siemens S.A., Tres Cantos, Spain (2018-2022).

His most recent executive role was as CEO of Norma Group SE in Maintal, Germany, from 2022 to May 2023.
