Rodrigo Rendeiro Costeira

In 2007 Rodrigo Costeira joined Miranda Law firm to work with the Corporate, Commercial and Projects Group, having been advising clients in Angola and other lusophone African jurisdictions in the various stages of a PPP/Project Finance, including tender process, contractual structuring, and construction through to financing and operation. Acted for sponsors, lenders and public entities. In such capacity, in addition to typical BOT deals, the experienced ammassed includes drafting legislation in the PPP sector, assisting in the restructuring of a utilitycompany and acting as local counsel in private sector financing deals in the energy, telecommunications, transports and industry sectors. Rodrigo has also been advising foreign entities implementing their investments in Angola, in particular: (a) Company incorporations, mergers, demergers, and acquisitions; (b) structuring joint ventures with local stakeholders; (c) negotiating and drafting commercial contracts; (d) negotiating and drafting financial documents (including equity and debt instruments, cross border financing arrangements,commodity trade finance instruments). Starting as an associate in 2007, and being a team player by nature with the ability to manage client relations, Rodrigo came up through the ranks within the firm, having been made Senior Associate in 2012, Managing Associate in 2015 and finally Partner in 2018. In May 2021, making use of its extensive experience in project finance, Rodrigo has undertaken a consultant position, been assisting MCA Deutschland Gmbh in structuring financing for energy/infrastructure proj ects in the African Continent.
