From theory to action: the climate crisis from a Feminist Foreign Policy angle

COP27 brought forth important decisions and steps with regards to loss and damage. But it is safe to say that the conference was a huge disappointment when it comes to the gender negotiations, which almost completely failed during the conference (from a civil society perspective). Thus, the hopes but also the stakes are high for this year’s conference in Dubai.

In order to create a momentum for feminist demands and gender equity at COP28, the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy (CFFP) and the Federal Foreign Office, together with other partners, will host a high-level, critical, and feminist event focusing on the connection between Feminist Foreign Policy and the climate crisis, bringing together the voices of various feminists from all over the world. The event will shed light on the need for critical gender negotiations but also the implementation of a gender lens in all areas discussed at COP, and be a starting point to forge alliances among committed Feminist Foreign Policy enthusiasts to unite around gender equity at COP28.
