Dr. Martin Frick

Biography

With 25+ years of experience spanning the United Nations, government, and NGOs, Dr. Frick brings expertise in food systems, climate, development, multilateral diplomacy, public diplomacy, and emergency response. As Director at the WFP Global Office Berlin since 2021, he leads WFP's engagement with its second-largest donor, Austria, and Liechtenstein. Serving as Director a.i. of the WFP Brussels Office from November 2022 to June 2023, he expanded WFP's strategic outreach to the EU Commission, Council, Parliament, and External Action Service.

 

Dr. Frick, a German diplomat since 1996, holds a Ph.D. in Law from Regensburg University and a diploma in International Relations from Science Po Strasbourg. With senior roles at UN Climate Change (2017-2021), FAO (2015-2017), and as Ambassador to the UN and International Organizations in Germany (2012-2015), he has significantly contributed to climate diplomacy and multilateral engagement.
